The anemones wake. A time for new intentions.
Nordic nature. Rituals from around the world.
Nature meditation and medicine walks near Copenhagen
We walk slowly, breathe, and use simple rituals from the Nordic tradition and other cultures to move out of the head and into the body. No experience needed, only a willingness to be present.
The forest is our space. Light, sound and scent help the nervous system settle.
Intention, breath and silence give a simple frame to rest in.
Small groups of no more than ten, with room to share or simply be.
You don’t need any experience. Just show up.
Every season has its own mood and its own gift. That’s why the walks follow the year, so each one matches what is happening in the forest right now.
The anemones wake. A time for new intentions.
The elder blooms. The light is longest and everything is growing.
The rowan berries ripen. We harvest and let go of what needs to fall.
The spruce stays green in the dark. Stillness, rest and the inner light.
The date for the winter nature meditation and medicine walk will be announced in November. Join the seasonal letter to hear first.
An afternoon in the forest where we arrive in the body through breath, set an intention, and you walk your own medicine walk. We close with tea and a sharing circle.
A medicine walk is an old practice where you go out alone into nature with an intention and let what you meet become a mirror. I guide you all the way.
We meet at a place I send you, ask the forest for permission and walk in together. On the way you start sensing what you would like to work with today.
The slow walk to the spot is part of it. The pace drops and you arrive in the space.
We sit down. I explain what will happen, cleanse the space and guide a grounding with breathwork.
You write your intention on a piece of paper that you can take with you or leave behind.
You choose the threshold you step across and walk alone into the forest. Everything you meet on the way is worth noticing. You are always within calling distance, and if you need me, I will come. I hold the space meanwhile and call you back with my drum when the time is up.
When you return, warm tea is waiting. You can write down your experiences, and we share what we met out there, if you wish.
Finally, we walk out of the forest together.
My life has always been a journey between places. I grew up between Denmark, Asia and the Middle East, and early on I became fascinated by how people in different cultures find calm, meaning and connection. But it was in the Danish forests in summer that I felt most at home. Barefoot in the moss, hands in the soil.
As an adult I forgot it for a while. I lived at a fast pace and was good at performing, but less good at feeling myself. It was the forest that called me back.
Today my practice is rooted in the old Nordic nature traditions, which I have followed since 2019. It also draws on what I have met along the way: pranayama from the Indian yoga tradition and modern breathwork, medicine walks, the drum, mindfulness and herbal knowledge. I use what works and keep it simple. Read about the roots of the practices
I don’t call myself a völva, a shaman or a healer. I share practices that have helped me, and I hold space while you find your own answers.
In everyday life I am a techno-anthropologist and researcher, and that part of me keeps both my feet firmly on the ground. To me, science and spirituality are not opposites: one gives us the lens, the other the language.
You don’t need to believe in anything in particular or have tried it before. You just need to want to come along.
Maria
No. You don’t have to believe in anything. The rituals are simple acts that help you pause, and you only take part in what you want to.
Yes, most people do. The groups are small and we begin by arriving together, so no one is left on their own. You can also bring a friend for DKK 500 for both of you.
That’s completely fine. There is no right way to do it. For many, a couple of quiet hours in the forest is enough.
No. We walk at a gentle pace on forest paths and sit part of the time. If you have particular needs, write to me and we’ll work it out.
We walk in all kinds of weather, including light rain. Dress for the weather. In case of storms or severe weather, I will move the date and let you know.
Only if you want to. The sharing circle is an invitation, not a requirement. What is shared in the circle stays in the circle.
Clothes for the weather, shoes that can get dirty, and ideally a small sitting mat. I bring the tea and paper.
Fill in the form and I will get back to you personally with payment details (MobilePay or bank transfer). Your place is confirmed once payment is received.
When the season turns, I send a short letter with the plant of the season, a simple practice you can do at home, and the next dates in the forest. Nothing more.
